Cafe Bonjour

Cafe Bonjour Portland Oregon

For those of you who have been following this blog since the beginning you may have already read about this Cafe that I really enjoy, but for those of you who haven’t, I’ve got to say that Cafe Bonjour on 4th and Pine is probably the best little coffee shop in town.

This morning I woke up at 4:30am to get ready for work. I’m sure you would all agree that 4:30am is an awful time to have to wake up, pry yourself out of bed and get the day started.

To get the day started I had my breakfast, threw some snacks together , kissed my wife and said goodbye and then walked down to the MAX Station. The morning could only get better right? WRONG! I should never expect the MAX ticket vending machine or validator to work.

I went through the hassle of buying MAX tickets yesterday from the Unico Tower Management office only to find the ticket validator at the station not working. Yesterday the ticket vending machine was not accepting my debit card and today the validator was broken. I am seriously starting to wonder how much money per year Tri-Met loses due to broken ticket vending machines and validators.

I arrived at work around 6:15 because I needed to work on a project for one of our clients. Everything went well until around 9am (the cutoff for a portion of the project) when I was 98% complete with it and was not able to complete what I needed to get done in time! This means my effort to come in early and finish on time was somewhat a bust. It felt good to get that portion of the project out of the way, but nevertheless it would delay the whole project by a day.

So, getting back to the subject of this post…. there is a bright side to this story. I went down the street to Cafe Bonjour and got a cup of joe. This was not any ordinary cup of joe, it was a frothy, sweet, 16oz mocha. I also picked up a plain bagel with some Philadelphia Cream Cheese to take back to the office. Not only did the frown wipe completely off of my face, a hint of a smile appeared as I sipped down my coffee. I was then able to think about going home early too since I had come in early! Now THAT is awesome.

sometimes when my day sucks I go down to dutch bros to get some dutch love. It definitely makes me feel better! How come that cafe sign is backwards? Is that how the French do it?
