Blog and Beer with Tom

BeerLast night, while our lovely wives were involved in a Women’s ministry meeting, my friend Tom and I went to the Horse Brass Pub in Belmont and had a beer. It was a pretty good time! I tried a local beer out of Government Camp, OR. called the Ice Axe IPA. It definitely held up to its description of being hoppy. Overall the taste was pleasant but nothing really compares to a good heffeweizen (in my book.)

Tom and I talked about everything from Investing to Politics to Religion - we were really all over the board but it was a good time chillin at the pub. We also discussed our blogs - Tom has a blog focused on Portland Real Estate and I have one on Financial Planning. Here is a link to Tom’s Blog.

We both talked about how it can be hard to find time to blog consistently with family and friends and church being a priority in our lives! It’s time consuming, but fun. I guess you just have to commit to putting an hour or two in every once in a while if you want a blog to grow and thrive. We’ll see how it goes!

After beer, we both headed back to his house and then Heidi and I drove home. What a night!

Olallie Lake 2008

August 1st through the 3rd Jason, Sara, Heidi and I went to Olallie lake to go camping. It was quite the trip! We went up early on Friday Morning and camped out until Sunday morning. We had a great time out on the water, attempting to fish (there were none to be found in the lake!) and just hanging out by the fire.

Crazy, Crazy Work

Financial Planner AllianceSo if it seems to you that I have been absent from writing recently, your assumption is true! Heidi and I have been very busy and I’ve had some late work nights over the last couple of weeks. It is not that I don’t care for you all, I just have barely have had time to be on the computer outside of work. One other distraction I have had is on my financial planning blog.

As far as our biking adventures go, we have made some trips up to Powell Butte but have not made it up to Mt. Tabor park for quite a while. Maybe we will have to ride up there once this crazy heat wave dies down!
